this week's prayer points

Praise God for the freedom we have to read and listen to His Word, which builds us up in Christ Jesus. Ask that He would help us to fight complacency and be diligent in listening to His Word. Pray that we would receive it gladly, and bear the fruit of the Spirit in response.

Pray specifically that we would proactively live out our faith in a way that responds with compassion and practical acts of grace to the needy in our society. Pray that God would keep opening our eyes to the needs of those around us, and that He would help us to be a blessing to them through the material things He has blessed us with.

Pray for all affected by the Mumbai terrorist attacks; for strength to endure this terrifying time. Ask for God’s mercy to be shown on the hostages – that they would be released alive in order that their chance to hear and respond to the Gospel would not be cut short. Pray that the terrorists would repent of their acts, and ultimately repent of their rebellion against the true God. Praise God that we can trust that no evil, suffering and tragedy is beyond His Sovereign control.
