Continue to pray for the fall-out from the global financial crisis. Pray for provision for those now genuinely struggling financially, as well as those already living in abject poverty in the world (especially in Haiti). Pray that as God’s people we will take care not to “put our hope in wealth, which is so uncertain, but to put our hope in God.” Pray that we will be a people of good works, eager to provide practical help to those in need.
Pray for ourselves to increasingly participate in God’s work in the world, and to carefully redeem all our time, money, possessions, qualifications, and relationships for the growth of God’s Kingdom rather than our own.
Pray for our students as the jacarandas bloom and herald due-dates and exams! Pray that as they hope in God rather than their education, this will surprise and challenge unbelievers around them, as well as enable them to use their education in worship to Jesus rather than as an end in itself.
